About Paddock

Paddock is a free tool built for NZ dairy farmers who want to make smarter grazing decisions without the hassle of spreadsheets or expensive software.

You take a photo of a paddock, we estimate the cover using AI. You talk through what you see, we structure it. Every morning, Paddock suggests which paddock to graze next — and tells you why.

It's a beta, which means it's free and we're actively improving it based on feedback from real farmers. Your data stays yours.

What it does

📸

Photo cover assessment

Take a photo of a paddock and get an instant AI estimate in kgDM/ha — no plate meter needed.

📊

Feed wedge

See your whole farm's cover at a glance. Spot which paddocks are getting away or are too low.

🎙️

Voice notes

Talk through what you see in the paddock. Paddock picks out the key information automatically.

🤖

Daily grazing call

Each morning get an AI suggestion on which paddock to graze next, based on your actual farm data.

📈

Growth tracking

Paddock calculates your farm growth rate and average pasture cover so you always know where you stand.

How it works

1

Set up your farm

Enter your farm details — herd size, platform hectares, calving date. Takes 2 minutes.

2

Assess your paddocks

Walk the farm as normal. Tap 'Assess paddock', take a photo, and optionally record a voice note. The AI does the rest.

3

Check your feed wedge

Your home screen shows your average pasture cover, days of feed, and a visual wedge of all paddocks.

4

Get your daily call

Each morning tap 'Generate today's call'. Paddock looks at your cover data and suggests which paddock to graze next.

5

Mark it done

After you've moved the mob, tap 'Done — grazed it'. Paddock tracks your rotation history automatically.
